The Story
In this course, we explain the DSM diagnostic criteria for autism and ADHD, and the signs of these conditions that are not in the diagnostic criteria but crucial for the diagnostic process. We share adaptations for the diagnostic process to ensure it is neurodiversity-affirming and strengths-focused. We cover adaptations to autism and ADHD that can hide DSM signs, our recommended screening instruments, diagnostic procedures, and resources, differential and co-occurring conditions, report preparation, and explaining the diagnosis and subsequent support.
